yes definitely, i have been in Thailand for a couple of weeks so it is seriously in need of a trim now, ! i will try to get some before and after shots at the weekend.

The Hydrocotyle was just tucked into cracks and splits on the wood.

The moss was tied directly to the wood, i did not use any wool. as for maintenance the plants get a trim every couple of weeks so not difficult or time consuming, in fact that is my favourite part :)

I only covered it for the first 2 weeks its been uncovered for a couple of months now without any issues.

Lovely flow in the hardscape, will be watching this one closely :)

Yes of course there is: Hygrophila pinnatifida at the back. Fittonia Red on the left and Fittonia White on the right. Kyoto dotted around and some Hydrocotyle tripartita just stating to run around and climb over the small rock at the front. :thumbup:

Been growing this in for a Xmas table centrepiece that's a bit different from the norm, just needs some tinsel and fairy lights now :lol:

Thanks! Here is a couple of update shots.

The Bolbitis Difformis mini is doing great, it is a slow grower but looks beautiful. Most of the Marsilea Crenata melted and only about a quarter remains, i filled the foreground space with Eleocharis acicularis Mini, Eriocaulon cinereum and Cryptocoryne Pygmaea, these have done really well...

First water change tonight, so much easier that the 90cm, i was done in 15 minutes :)

Mine often go for a walk around the rim of the tank, never found one that far away! The Amanos however are often found 15ft away heading for the front door :eek:

A big trim today before going to @Aquarium Gardens to collect the plants for Caridina Dreaming so i now have everything i ordered form there as well as a big bucket of cuttings for a panting session tomorrow. ;)

The Hardscape is now glued in place using cigarette filters and superglue, i have added some detail rocks and the rest of the substrate. I will start to prepare the hardware this week in readiness for the plants :) Thanks you to you guys for your input :thumbup:

OK this where we are now, i have changed the angle of the large rock slightly and brought some of the small ones forward a touch. I am happy with the wood now and the next job is to start gluing it in place.

Agreed Cookie, here is a slight tweak which is a bit better i think, i will need to live with it for a day or so and try a few other ideas.

And so it begins again... After another visit to @Aquarium Gardens today i have purchased a new AG 45cm that will become first and foremost a scape but also a dedicated Caridina tank. I think i have everything i need to start, minus the plants, so i will start to work on the hard scape this...

If you are going to run out soon and have no plans to replace it i would start to wean them off of CO2 now and slowly start to reduce your injection rate over a few weeks, reducing the light at the same time. I only run my Twinstar at 60% with high CO2 injection and have had it as low as 50%...

Not many updates as things are continuing to grow in, it is a little bit overdue for a trim but i have added some Kyoto to grow emersed.

Judging by the angle of that photo you must of been standing next to me Tim! It was a great day and as always i left with a big tray of plants :)

You will get to know your plants the longer you live with them and be able to spot anything lacking but as a guide this the type of things you need to keep an eye out for. http://aquathusiast.com/nutrientdeficiency/ For me Phosphate and CO2 deficiencies are the most common, especially in areas...

You will need to keep your Macros and Trace mixes in separate containers, i make 500ml at a time, at 20ml a dose, 3 times a week that's enough for just over 2 months, i have had no issues keeping it this long.

Oh i forgot to add that during the weekly water change i dump in a couple of teaspoons of Magnesium Sulphate too. ;)

I just use this recipe http://www.theplantedtank.co.uk/EI.htm with a little added K2SO4 into the Macro mix.if i see any deficiencies i just add a bit extra :thumbup:

Thanks, The Twinstar 900S comes on at 3pm and ramps up from 0-60% for 1 hour then stays at 60% until 9pm then ramps down to 0% and finally off at 10pm, so 7 hours in total but only 5 hours at 60% (Hope that makes sense) The first month the timings were the same but only went to 50% then...

Luckily the Gouramis have stayed away from the shrimp, already had 2 batches of baby cherries and they have left them alone, currently planning a shrimp only tank so they can always go in there if the Gouramis develop a taste for them.

Added 20 Tangerine Tigers this week but they seem to have gone into permanent hiding, full maintenance session today and added some Ludwigia Mini Super Red and another type of Anubias. everything is growing so fast and the Buces are starting to colour up nicely now.

I used one of these on mine, works really well just mounted on the back of the cabinet and you can just twist it in its clips to adjust the angle. You can adjust the colour and intensity using the remote control. :thumbup...

The Limited Edition was Blyxa but i have added Riccardia and Cryptocoryne parva to the foreground, the Blyxa is in over on one side to see how it settles in, i have always struggled with it in the past.

OK this is where we are after rejigging the foreground, i think it adds greater depth overall but all comments gladly welcome.

Going to finish the revamp of the foreground today, managed to grab one of these to try (Below), have always struggled with it in the past so will be interesting to see how i get on with a 1-2 grow version. will need to trim the Bolbitis back as it is growing so fast. I will post some photos later.
