Here is my diy shallow tank, it has the same dimensions as the ADA 60-F except it's made from acrylic and only cost just over £20 to make.
Initial thoughts are that this is going to be low tech with a carpet of lilaeopsis brasiliensis covering most of the tank. Not sure what's going to go up...
So, I was thinking about a scape i'm in the process of setting up, and i suddenly remembered that i had a tupperware box of plants on the windowsil in a room i never go in (spare bedroom/the cat's bedroom). The box has been untouched since i moved into my new house in September. Sans the mould...
Hi all,
A relative was going to bin this tank, so I took it on. Didn't want to spend too much money so built the stand out of concrete blocks and plywood. The sides and back were painted black apart from one chunk of the back pane for some reason, so I decided to paint that bit myself rather...
Hi all,
I just purchased some riccardia chamedryfolia and obviously this stuff is super expensive. It's the second time i've purchased it, the first time I killed it. Is there anyway to propagate it emersed? I'd love to be able to keep a backup supply of it, if there is what's the best way to...

I'm about to rescape my 60p, for my previous scapes i've been using a Hydor Professional 350 filter, which I actually quite like, it's quite, looks good and the flow rate is excellent. However, the problem I have with it, is that when you disconnect the filter from the pipes there is no way to...
Hi all,
Just purchased a Scapers tank for my office at work, but need to get a light for it. I'd rather and LED, because of the size and minimalist design of most units. Does anyone have any recommendations? The main two I've looked at so far is the Dennerle Power LED 5.0 and the Aquael Leddy...
My girlfriend asked that I set up a scape for the lounge. Because I'm pretty busy and don't have much time for maintenance right now I decided to set up something low tech and easy to care for, this is what I came up with. Having only previously had high tech planted tanks I couldn't believe how...
Hi all,
I'm planning on setting up a low maintenance tank for my lounge soon using a spare tank I have just sitting around. I've previously only ran high tech before. My question is, the current lighting I have with this tank (which is a 41cmx27cmx27cm 28 litres) is a 3x8w T5 luminary. I assume...
Wasn't happy with how the last scape was going, there were some fundamental errors in the set-up stage, so here we go again.
Tank- ADA 60P
Stand - DIY ADA-ish style
CO2- DIY set-up with 2kg fire extinguisher. Inline UP Aqua diffuser.
Heater- Hydor Inline 200w
Filter- Hydor Professional 350...
6 Months after taking down my first scape we're finally settled in our new house, so it's time to start again. This is a bit of a blank canvas, built with only a vague idea in my head, we'll see how we go with it!

So it's almost time for me to start a new scape. I dried out my old ADA Amazonia from my first tank, however I had been using Tropica's plant growth substrate beneath it, and in the process of emptying the tank and drying it out, it all got mixed together. Firstly, should i separate them before...
Started this tank in late January. It's my first aquascape. It's also my first foray into planted tanks. Started off low tech, went high tech for 4 months, after the extinguisher ran out, I just decided to move to liquid co2, which seems to have kept the carpet alive, even if it's not quite as...
Hey all,
I'm in the process of growing out my first planted aquascape. I currently have two pieces of Dragonstone, a nicely developing carpet of Eleocharis sp. mini and some Alternanthera Reineckii mini. I initially attempted this using only liquid carbon and a tropica plant growth set. After...
