My lights are as follows:
48x3w crees
Channel 1 16x3w 6400k Cree
Channel 2 16x3w 10k care
Channel 3 13x3w 300-450 cree
Channel 4 3x3w moonlight Cree.
I previously had channel 1 on 40%
2 - 20%
3 - 10%
4 - off
This was ok then had a boom of bba..
Then I turned them down even lower and now all...
I did think that and I removed it to test and made no difference! I have a feeling that the ceramic has become blocked and the co2 has had nowhere to go...
Yeh I am also using ph checker aswell. I will try looking for a leak again. Nightmare this.
What are the chances of them filling with air instead of co2 ?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The thing is I can visually see the bubbles leaving the inline atomizer while shining a light on the hose.
So that tells me the air/co2 is getting to the filter. So from there either the air/co2 is escaping. Can it get out the filter? Or would there be a leak ?

Yet another co2 problem!!
I have had no problems until I changed my co2 bottle over a few days ago and also put baby oil instead of water Into my bubble counter.
Ever since then I cannot seem to get any co2 in the tank at all. Ph does not move neither does the dc change from blue.
Yesterday I...
I don't believe its co2 deficiency! Even though its 99.9% the case! Well... all I use is a 5L tub with the package from APF and add the ascorbic acid Approx 1/4 spoon per 500ml. The container is in a dark corner so no light is present...

Looking inside it...
I currently only have one dosage pump and I have macro and micro in the same container with ascorbic acid to stop the reaction. Although my plants are showing signs of iron deficiency. How effective is the ascorbic? Cheers
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I was kind of thinking that but was just unsure if it would be giving to much of a unstable flow of co2 instead of a constant flow. I suppose the ph is dropping so much he a sufficient amount of co2 getting diluted into the water column.

I currently have my atomizer on the inlet so it goes through my filter (JBL e1501)
My question is every now and then I get a massive influx of micro bubbles coming through the filter. So you can here the filter making a load noise then the bubbles will come up through the spray bar. It...

Good growth although some of my tenellus has melted.

I have added more tenellus also trimmed the stem plants and re-planted

Hello Clive,
My canister goes as follows:
Bottom tray - course -medium - fine foam
Next tray course foam
Next - noodles
Top tray - course foam and finer foam at the top.
If this was your filter how would you configure it?
Also in my tank i have a 1 meter spray bar which is nearly the...
I use this chart.
Basically I take a KH reading and then a PH reading before I add co2 and the monitor the ph every hour to see how it is!
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
In my canister mine goes like this
Bottom tray - fine foam - mid foam-course foam
Next tray - course foam
Third tray - noodles
Top tray course foam with fine foam on top.

What actually in the pipe? What would you have inside the filter? Can't see just a little sponge in the intake pipe would be enough to take all the rubbish out?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have said there bubbles are not "large" there micro.
I do apologise if infact the word "burped" was a large bubble only.
I have had them in both positions and I have found it is infact more efficient to have the atomizer on the intake.
Once again I apologise if I have used the word "burp"...
No the bubbles are not "large" there micro as they would be if the atomizer was on the outlet.
"Coming out of solution" what do you mean?
Mine is effective that's all I no :)
Green dc and ph drop to what I want.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think it has slightly.
The main reason I did this was I didn't like the continuous look of the micro bubbles so now only get them when it burps.
So I guess if there's less bubbles they must of been dissolved into the water column.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I made this change on my JBL e1501 and it seems to be fine just every now and then it "burps" but I can live with that.

This is my first real attempt of a planted tank so this should be fun...
The first attempt was only really a tester to see how it got on as I was completely new to this and my results where quite good and then got hit with a mass of BBA and took over my tank.
I believe the reason...
I agree Sacha specially for 16/22 connection. Also what I have read you loose a lot of flow.
Suppose there's pros and cons and either the inline atomizer and the reactor it's just deciding which pros and cons you prefer..

I have just used http://www.aquariumgardens.co.uk plants came very good condition and very well packaged :)
They are also very helpful if you need help.

Nutrasoil now been added. It's been 3 days ammonia is low.
I have cooked all the soil for 2 hours.
My question is my nitrate level is very high which as I understand is the process I have done while cooking. I am doing water changes but the level does not fall, how dangerous is this to the fish...
So if I do this process and then add a couple of scoops of this soil maybe compost? Would my substrate still have the same compounds as in will still lower ph and contain ferts?
Just I do not want to destroy the substrate as the main reason I had it was to help grow my plants.
Thanks
Sent...
I have ordered 2 big oven trays and I will bake for 2hours @ 180c.
Hope that will take abit of the ammonia out!
I have just rang TMC they said because it's a dry product it won't make any difference. I am not convinced they are right so will still bake!
So basiclly baking or boiling the soil? I know I won't get it all just would like to do what i can to reduce because time is not on my side!
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I was thinking of adding the soil then filling the tank up while I prepare the plants then empty the water up to the substrate then plant then fill again. Do you think that may may irritate it?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think I have had abit of a nightmare...
I am preparing for a re-scape and I have already bought the nutrasoil and only just thought about the ammonia spike it may have.
My problem is that I have no where else to put my current fish so they would have to go straight back in after I have...
Sounds a cheaper way then paying for a heat gun which seems abit risky.
Everything I have looked for surface mounted they heat the star on hot plates which is impossible in my case!
Thanks Ian
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks for your help Ian. Undecided which way to go yet. Just one last thing the temp control what would you have it set at?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ohh! Better not then!!!
I have been looking at this wick method seems ok but what if it doesn't take enough solder off? Also I think its a solder paste?
Also seen this on eBay...
I have just spoke to a family member about it and he says i will be crazy to try this! He said there's no way your going to be able to do it without damaging anything.
How much risk would you say there is?
Even with aluminium sheet cut to go around led.. :s
Also it would be a normal heat gun...
Thanks for your advice. I currently have it set to 30% on 16x3w LEDs(6k) and 20% on 16x10k LEDs see how it goes. As this is a new light i am hoeing for improvement in the next few weeks if not i will decrease more!
No there all working fine. I just want to change some 10k for some 6k's :)
I have watched a youtube video and all he did was heat the led with heat gun and then put the new one on with abit of flux aswel.
May give it a try if I feel confident enough!

I was wondering if anyone knows how you can change these?
I have took the cover off and this is what it looks like.
I Believe the led is cree xlamp xm-l series.
Under this unit is a solid metal plate which cannot be removed.
Apparently these lights are designed to easily change the led..
I...
I have just bought a custom LED light and I am unsure of the intensity and distance from the substrate the light should be.
My tank is 120lx30wx46d
Light from substrate now is 55cm
I have been looking at the graph but as it's customised it's hard to choose one.
The light has 4 channels and I...
Yeh maybe. I currently have it on the side of my tank pointing to the intake. Mainly to try push all the waste that direction!

I have just replaced my Beamsworks today! I have not had any problems with it!
I have got my new light turned down so hopefully it will stop the algae! I will post about my light at a later date I am very impressed with it :)
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I currently have the beamsworks 1w x 54 controller version and there is plenty of light on it and for the price I am happy..
I have currently got another light which I have not tested yet to replace just because I want to have more control over the intensity.
Sent from my iPhone using...
I'm not sure about the graph? There LEDs so I don't now how apprent it is?
The light is approximately 8 inches from the water which I know is far to close that's another reason for a new light.. I only have sand as a substrate..,, there is a lot a flow..

Well I have had algae issues for some time now.
I have upped my co2 3bps and my dc is dark green.
My co2 goes on at 9am (due to high KH) and then my lights on at 12 for 7 hours and my co2 goes of an hour before.
I currently have a beamswork led 54x1w which later this week I will be replacing...
I currently have the JBL E1501 filter and I do not think its filtrating efficiently..
There always seems to be a lot of fish waste floating around my tank consistently. I have very good flow custom spray bar and a Koralia 3200.
My tank is only 150L. I seen the waste getting sucked out but i am...
I changed my atomizer onto the intake it seems ok although every so often it "burps" from the spray bar. The filter does not seen to make any noise from the propeller when it does.
I think this is a better way no where near as many bubbles as before...
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't understand why they do not make for bigger hoses? I wonder if its to do which the mechanics etc...
I really don't want to reduce flow!
I am tempted to stick my inline atomizer on the intake and see how my filter copes. If that fails its looking like my only option is the Sera!
Sorry for waking up an old topic!:(
I was just wondering where people get there inline atomizer from? I currently have the one from Co2Art the new version.
I can only get micro bubbles... I have cleaned, checked for leaks etc my reg pressure is at 3.5 bar. Still no difference..
Yeh I may do that.... I'm not sure if I am seeing micro bubbles or mist :0
I am sure it's micro bubbles though which I think it shouldn't be! The atomizer is clean!
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Seems that they reduce the flow quite abit.... That would defiantly put me off getting one...
I currently have my atomizer on the outtake..
I was thinking of putting it the intake end so it would act like a slight reactor :0 but read that it corrodes the seals and also the filter starts to make...
I currently have an inline Atomizer but I am thinking of getting rid of it due to the amount of bubbles. I just don't like the look!
I Believe a reactor does a better job anyway? Also that it dissolves the bubbles before getting to the tank?
What are your thoughts? If so what would be my best...
I have a 3.2kg bottle and had it running at roughly 1-2bps 6 hours a day.
I inject by inline atomizer.
It's been about 4months and still got about another 2 months at least left! :)
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have bought a 5L container I was just thinking do you have to give it a stir every now and then? Or can I just leave it until it's ran out which would be over 200 days worth?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I will have a read :) I am looking the the pictures and i don't notice leafs? Just the grass effect. I just want a easy maintenance grass that i can just trim like cutting grass!
So if i trimmed the Tenellus low would it not kill it off? I have been looking at pictures and i cannot see any leafs?
I am also looking at the saggitaria they look very similer.
I used Eleocharis acicularis and i tried a pot of 1-2 grow mini aswell both with no success!
I am going to look into Echinodorus Tenellus it seems more up my street! :)
Just went on Aqua Essentials and Echinodorus Tenellus picture does not look right? I have googled it and its more grass like...
I am thinking of re-scaping my tank and i want to add an easy fast carpet plant. I have already tried Eleocharis which was a fail :( ended up dieing.
I want it to be grass like as well.
I have been reading the one that I think would be the best is Lilaeopsis brasiliensis?
I do pump in CO2 and...
What would you do? Dose everyday at half that? So
3 tsp Potassium Nitrate
1.5 tsp Potassium Phosphate
6 tsp Magnessium Sulphate
And 1 tap chelated trace?
Dose 10ml per 50ltr every day
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That mix is what Aquarium plant food uses which I have just copied.
All I wanted to do is combine mix one with chelated trace.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have just spoke to APF and basicly if you want to combine you have to get some Ascorbic Acid to stop it reacting with the potassium phosphate.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I was just wondering as I am getting a single auto dosage pump is that would I be able to combine mix one with mix 2?
So basically mix one with 2 tsp of chelated trace?
I notice the dosage amounts are the same so I wondered why they where not already combined? Do they not mix together?
Mix 1...
I will try that.
I have bought 2 (the yellow sticks) and they both act the same way. For example before I tested the tank I tested the water and it was at 7.6 which is normal, then I would do my tank which comes at 7.8 usually... (I do have very hard water) then a few hours later I will check...
Whats the average Bps on a tank my size?
Yes i have trimmed all the infected leaves but it still appearing..
I have a PH pen but i do not have any trust in what it reads, always says something different.. even tap water readings change withing a 2 hour period.
My Tank:
150L
Med Planted
External Filter (JBL 1501)
Temp 25
About 2 months ago I fitted an inline atomizer on my outflow and at first I had working pressure problems.
So I bought a dual stage reg to solve this problem.
Once that was fixed I set my bubble counter to 1 BPS and kept it running...
