Looking mainly at 2nd hand DSLR, i know there are a fair few photography heads on here, just wondering what people would choose at the really budget end, i'm not bothered about age or features, i just want to take some nice reversed lens macro shots.
Thanks in advance, Gus.
Will i have enough pressure to run an RO unit on my balcony? ideally would like to run it off a hozelock fitting, i am around 5 floors up but my water pressure seems very high on the cold tap (much higher than my old house), it can drop at times during peak use.
From what i can garner by...
Wondering how accurate these conversion charts in the different kelvin ratings and with different bulbs are as obviously a lux meter is quite substantially cheaper than a PAR meter.
Any input valued and appreciated.
Gus.
Not found much out there apart from vague references in papers referring to the different life stages and lab conditions, curious about the tidal breeding cycle of these snails, salinity levels in their natural environment, etc.
If anyone has any more in depth information it would be much...
So i have rescued a discus from a tank at work, it's definitely seen better days, very skinny, and looks a bit stunted, i wanted to give it the best chance so i asked the boss if i could take it home to try and put it right, first i'm going to be feeding it well, direct pipette feeding maybe...
as per title, growing it at 25C just fine, lovely and green, but will it actually attach itself? i did find it growing attached to a rock but i'm wondering if you can just tie it to something and get it to attach itself, i've read differing opinions from searches.
i'm a bit lost where to start with looking for what this is, i've seen similar plants sold from pond suppliers as callitriche? found in fully aquatic growth form, couldn't find any growing outside of the stream.
Right now my current cost is 54p per pot and rockwool plug, wondering if i can find them cheaper elsewhere or wholesale maybe? cheers for any help in advance.
right bit of a question here, i know that species such as bolbitis, microsorum and anubias need almost 100% humidity when grown emersed or on decor, but what kind of humidity is required when growing plants such as, eleocharis, echinodorus, pogostemon helferii, blyxa, staurgyne, crypts etc...
As per title, just curious really, my general preference is captive bred for a number of reasons, but some species are only available wild caught so leaves you a bit limited as to choice,
What about you guys?
Cheers, Gus.
i got no idea, the lower leaves are emersed growth, the top stuff is submersed growth, very different colouration, the emersed growth is pretty much a teal or turqoise colour, really quite blue.
Anyone got one? if you have one is it actually worth it? looks interesting getting a nice selection of stuff each month, but £30 a month is a bit much unless it's actually worth it.
Just really wanted to make a post about PlantsAlive.co.uk as you don't see many people give a review on them, i have ordered from them a number of times now and the plants have always been really good quality.
At the end of the day you are not going to get the same level of root growth and...

Regards, Gus.
can someone help me out here? ive never used any of these aquasoils, i am looking for the one with the least vulnerability to disurbance, longevity, i know ADA lasts around a year before its depleted, but as im dosing EI i presume it would also absorb some of the ferts once it had been depleted...
Well this is my first Ukaps journal, and i have to say i am very excited, ive had a few attempts at planted tanks before, but never really had enough money to go all out and do it properly so they weren't a great success, i had a 4foot iwagumi before that i never posted pictures of, and it went...
just wondering? im on an arboriculture (tree surgery) Apprenticeship myself, just wondering if any other planted tank enthusiasts work with plants on a day to day basis? Regards, Angus.
