    it needs to be a dual stage reg to adjust the working pressure, that looks like its one of CO2 arts single stage (but dual gauge) reg, so as far as i know you can't adjust the working pressure i'm afraid :( but someone else might know a trick?

    do you use an aerosol (likes Air fresheners, deodorant) near the tank? without the lid, loads of airborne things will fall onto the surface and create the film, as well as things being produced inside the tank.

    a physical but probably impractical way to improve this would be using a half tinted or gradient filter on your lens? it would mean you could get a stop or two less exposure on the cat buy keep the tank as it, but only if the composition would fit :)

    by Betta do you mean Betta splendens (Siamese fighting) if so you can only keep one male Betta in a tank (not sure it goes for all Betta species though)... but you can have multiple male gourami = more colour in the tank.
