A month into the hobby, a life long dream coming true.

Hi Hygrophila pinnatifida might not survive without Co2...its one of the more difficult plants to get going in a low energy aquarium! The Hornwort/Bucephalandra are melting this could indicate that you may have low levels of ammonia.

    Episode 3: A new scape

Hi I'm sorry to say that the H Pinnatifida and some other plants are destined for the big compost heap in the sky.....some plants really do need Co2 or they are destined to fail and cause a organic mess and that affects water quality! Using some species of substrate plants as epiphytes is doable...

My First Tank | 35cm Cube - "Up the Hill"

Hi I always switch off my Co2 the night before if I'm going to purchase new fish! The reason for this is LFS fish are in well-aerated tanks....so its best practice to have similar well-oxygenated aquarium water when acclimatizing them. Co2 can be restarted slowly when the fish have settled into...

My First Tank | 35cm Cube - "Up the Hill"

Hi Nitrite 0 - 5:eek: That's your problem..... this should be zero! Your aquarium is not cycled properly. Get some fast-growing stem plants, leave them on the surface to aid filtration. Woodland Troll - Take Four

Hi Tim I would add another good quality one just before the Atomiser! This will keep the working pressure up in the atomiser chamber. That might help! I always used 2 check valves running Co2 from a cylinder. hoggie
