Bit difficult not to when opening the page as it's right in front of me. I've a large screen so can get a lot on in one go. First answer given 10 minutes after the puzzle was posted.

Been a bit quiet recently as I've been busy and also I've got a really sore back after building the construction below. You worked at Rolling Thunder in Brentford? Wow that's the skate park I went to when I was young. There's some pictures of it here - http://vintageskateboardmagazines.com/Skateboard!%28UK%29Issues/Skateboard!%28UK%29Issue16.html. Born Again Skateboarder

Hard to believe but I've taken up skateboarding again after a 30 break. My 9 year old son brought a skateboard with his xmas money and so I dug out my old boards from the garage. I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed from before so have now treated myself to a new board. Things have come a long way...

To the computer experts... see if you can solve this

I remembered this post from a while ago. As a side earner I fix up old laptops to sell and have just brought a second hand screen that when turned on had exactly the same thing as Aaron's above. I dismantled the LCD panel and sure enough there between the front glass screen and the polarizing...

    Which laptop to go for?

It's just my opinion though. I've worked with loads of laptops for years and you get a feel for them. Even the best ones have faults like HP's bending ones that freeze up due to poorly designed main boards. There will always be 'lemons' and you take your chances. What you don't want is a company...

    Which laptop to go for?

Please don't buy a Dell laptop. They have a poorly designed power adapter design that has caused many people no end of trouble. Their support and service is appauling and fob you off with new power adapters that they know aren't going to last long and if you are out of warranty then you are...

One for the techys out there.

I quite like linux and have used it since about '94 when I used the slackware distro. Back then it was a real pain with lots of script hacks needed to get anything to work. Since then I've used a few different distro's with red hat being the main one. A couple of years ago I started using ubuntu...

One for the techys out there.

Could be because it has 2 controllers, IDE and SATA. The IDE controller will report no HDD found, which is correct, and possibly the SATA controller doesn't report, or is so fast that you don't see it. James

To the computer experts... see if you can solve this

Could be worth a try but I'd be amazed if it worked as the units are pretty well sealed. I'm actually amazed it managed to get in in the first place. What might work and is at your own risk is to tap the screen whilst gently twisting it. This may dislodge the insect so it drops out of view. Be...

To the computer experts... see if you can solve this

You can dismantle the screen but it is a very tricky thing to do. You must try not to touch the polarising sheets or get any dust or dirt on them once it's opened up otherwise it will look a million times worse than it is now. I've opened up many screens to fix them and find it fairly easy now...

Hi Simon. Sorry to hear it's still not fixed. It could be a DNS problem. I use OpenDNS servers for my DNS lookups which work really well. If you know how then change your DNS servers in your network settings to these - 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 - and let me know how you get on. James

Sounds as though you may have a remote control trojan on your pc. Not all anti-virus catch these. If you have, your whole pc has been compromised.
