So the idea is basically to be an upgrade on my existing tank as I'm starting o get fed up with the limitations of the set up. If I can't get 100% what I want now then I'd like it to be easily upgradable at a later date.
Looking to scale up the below and have a nice planted community tank (if...
I hear what your saying about already thinking about an up grade but the set up is half the price of where I got pricing up the ND one........ What to do..
I like the extra height of the juwel only thing putting me off is the lid being so plastic, am I right in thinking if I do up grade I'll...
So I've changed the title add I've been pricing everything up today an it's getting to more than I wanted to spend.
My local LFS has offered me a Juwel 300 package for under £600 which includes everything. Was thinking I could get this and add an external filter now with the view to upgrading...
Time has come to upgrade my tank and I'm looking at a 48 x 24 x 18 from ND Aquatics with Opti White front panel.
What is the silicone work like on these, searches have turned up mixed reviews but most post where a bit on the old side so wondering what the quality is like now a days.
Also any...
Is this stuff ok to use and if yes, how long should the items be left before returning to the tank? or is aquarium silicone sealant better (attaching some wood to slate)
Thanks
Sorry to hijack but any tips for removing it from wood?
Got some nice root that I want to reuse but it's suffering bad from BBA, can't really scrub it off as the wood is very delicate.
Thanks
Used them a lot and never had any issues with them, Orders always deliveried promptly and of great quality.
They did change their number recently that may why you can't get hold of them if you have the old number.
Just taking the tanks lights into consideration and not the location I had a 23 litre one with the stock LED bar running low tech and my
Lights were in for about 8.5 hours a day with no issues.
Have recently bought an Arcadia Stretch CF40 for my shrimp tank but would like the light slightly higher above the tank
Looking at the design of the light it looks possible to hang the light so I was wondering if anyone had attached one to a TMC MMS rail before? Will get a small rail to try in...
Have seen that but due to the tanks position I would need the upright to screw to the too if a desk.
Will have think about it tomorrow, sure I have seen something that would work in kitchen fittings.
Hi Julian, yes. Controller is in my list so I can reduce the output.
As my tank is only 31cm high and 45 wide just wanted to see if all the tank would be covered. Suppose I can always change to a MMS rail and add another tile later if required.
Thanks for the reply.
Mine is 45w*36d*31h It's the height that concerns me as I don't really have other options on suspending the tile above the tank. You've got an extra 12cm in height and 7cm less width.
Hopefully someone has put one above this tank, will have to wait and see
I'm looking at putting the above light on my tank. The tank is 31cm deep and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the spread of light would be like if I attach it using the single mounteray bracket.
The tank is 45cm wide (dennerle scaper) and I'm wondering if I'll get dark corners or...
Thanks, I know there is a larger gap at the back that enable the lid to be used with the tank, but the gap at the sides isn't big enough for the filter to be fitted with the lid in place (from memory having seen it at MA)
Have had a PM from another member who has confirmed they will fit though...
Can anyone with a Dennerle Scaper tank tell me roughly how much gap there is either side of the lid once fitted to the tank?
Trying to find out if the wire TMC supports for the light rails will fit with the lid fitted.
Thanks
Thanks and you didn't come across that way so have another drink....lol
Just working out the price of tank, filter and lights as seperates compared to the kit. It's more a quart ion of is the light to much for the tank as I want to keep it low tech, don't want to have another co2 set up.
Looking at setting up a low tech shrimp tank and like the look of the Dennerle Scaper tank.
Looking for feedback on the light that comes with the kit as I really don't want to go down the CO2 route with this tank.
Is the light too much for a shallow tank? should I look at getting just the tank...
Hi,
Ive got a 30L Ebi tank that will be home to a Betta Slender soon. The stock internal filter really isn't up to scratch so I'm looking for a small external filter along the lines of a Eden 501 (was looking at the Boyu but too many mixed reviews).
Have found the above Exo Terra FX200 for...
I'm looking to replace the substrate in my current tank from gravel to a soil type.
As the tank is already cycled (been running circa 6 months) I will be looking at temp removing the shrimp, fish (mainly shrimp) and plants , change the substrate over re plant and then replace the water (50%...
Lol , one of the rules of working from home for my job is you have to agree to supply your own fire extinguisher for H&S reasons.
Doesn't say is has to have to cone fitted and be available to put a fire out......lol
For people saying dosing prime in small tanks can be awkward and you need syringes etc just get the smallest bottle of prime. The dosages for small tanks are in drops rather than ml's and the bottle has a built in dropper lid.
Works great on my nano tank.
My LFS was telling me another customer was telling them about a place at burnt mills Basildon that does FE refills for £10. Haven't managed to find out the name yet but could be worth investigating.
I know it's not BOC Gas and Gear as I've tried them.
Quick question. Can anyone tell me the diameter of the outlet pipe on these?
Need something to add a bit of flow to remove a couple if dead spots I have and haven't found a power head I'm happy with yet (too powerful).
Have looked at these to help remove the scum on the surface but also got...
I remember the name starting with a w (or at least the one it was sold under) but I had my doubts on it being aquatic.
But your right it does look like one of those, thanks
Suppose I'll find out in a few weeks.
Thanks for all your help guys.
Have just finished the outlet side ready for a diffuser next week and confirm it is 16/22 that is needed, glad I asked here.
I'm fact it looks so much better I'm going to do the inlet side as well so that's an unplanned 50% water change today......lol
Thanks James.
Think I'll go with the first suggestion and get both, that way I know I'll have the correct size. Will post back once done so anyone searching can find the answer.
Ok thanks guys. Looking at that hose off of the filter it just looked
Too small. Will give it a go at the weekend before ordering the diffuser.
Thanks again.
Thanks.
That's not a bad shout. I'll pick some up from the LFS today and try both at the weekend.
Once I know which one I use I can order the diffuser.
Hi Guys, looking for a bit of advice.
I have a fluval 206 fitted to a fluval fresh tank, It's plumbed through the bottom of the tank so no pipework on the outside. So at the tank end there is a set of barbs (think that's what they are called...lol) and a fluval aqua stop valve at the filter...
Funny you should mention harlequin Rasboras. I just installed CO2 at the weekend and introduced 6 of these fish. They spent mist if the first hour it so chasing the small bubbles round the tank eating them.
Noticed a couple of posts about integrity fire in Romford Essex.
This is where I have got my CO2 from and can confirm they do indeed now do FE refills for £13 + VAT
Hi, long time browser but first time poster.
Just wanted to say a massive thanks to CO2 Art. Used this company due to their connection with this site after getting so much info from threads on here.
This company really is customer focused and their customer service is second to none and...
