bloom i reckon, even when cleaning in tank water, you can get clouding. nowt to worry about. back off the fish feeding a little etc etc. whilst it corrects itself.
I know nothing about the science bit, but my nano has no KH and is the high 5-low 6 PH and i've not suffered at all.
fish are happy and plants are gorgeous. :geek:
i always believe that if you do regular W/C in a tanks infancy you'll be able to add livestock pretty quickly. even with brand new media. I know I have done and never lost stock. stock slowly.
Jen, i understand where your coming from, really i do....BUT i can say hand on heart Clive is the most reliable guy on this site. he has a way in writing things that may confuse from time to time, but i can assure you he's a diamond.

personally i'd just go with tap water. it contains allot of good things for plants. i think using R/O water might just kill your interest for planted tanks, secondly it can get expensive what with the 90% waist of water. i used r/o and it became a bind. don't get me wrong r/o has it...
