    have been trying various plants from the out doors like hyrocotle which is in our lawns here. Thought id pull some of this off the tree in the gardrn as see if it will stay alive. Similar leaf shape to glosso we will see. Two weeks and now sending nee leaves.

    Messing about with some off cuts of acrylic to find the best lid that works for me then ill make a final 3 piece lid one who sheet is just to Fiddly when you have wood protruding. I have overlap atm as im awaiting more clips/ brackets for support then i will have it all level.

    These have just arrived . Any advice on best way to keep this pink flamigno, pather what ever last lot melted with the week and never returned. So was concidering growing some emersed and some in the tank? . Tiny amount and hard to get hold of here.

    Cleared up fast . Plants on order . Had to order from 4 different supliers , stock low limited and pricey i will add a list as i add them to the tank. Ive used the old substrate plus 2 x 9l bags of goldern tree to top up with jbl root balls where the crypts are going.

    Found an old bit of material left over from a job at work and thought that it will suffice for now keep the cats out and the foxes in. Messured up cut and happy for now springs on its way and i remeber the daily water loss last year .

    The covers i made were no longer any good as id cut out parts for wood pipes etc. So after 8hrs id had quit enough and reached for the cling film .

    Transfered the scape as near to what i created out of the tank. Not having a spare tank sort of limited the time i had to do this , sold off most plants and wood unused to fund new plants.

    Ordered plants , and a final tutu/ tinker with the scape before adding to tank. Tutu is maori for tinker not an item of clothing .

    Got sick of the water marks down the back of the tank as i couldnt get to them. So got some wrap from a sign guy and set about cleaning and attaching the stuff. Fidly stuff on your own.

    Agreed for the first time this year i am disapointed with ehiem. The plastic isnt as thick i have two broken taps here from the new classic 600/2217 seems noisey compared to the old one i had 10 yrs ago in the uk. The taps were solid yrs ago now poor moldings.

    Well tank is picking up after ditching my liquid mix and now dosing dry fert, bit of algae as to be expected but happy with it so far. Just done a moss trim up and water change.

    Well. Probably the most annoying thing so far , worse than forgetting i was filling the tank . This stuff has reduced my filter to a trickle during lights out whilst at work. Did everythiing i could before wood went in soaked for weeks to get it to sink etc. This will sure test me.

    Takes ages to get stuff here waited 5 weeks for my pos nitrate to turn up under DG postage and they lost it. Awaiting another parcel from the suplier 2 week gone on that now they find the first parcel and return it to sender 😂 i said this scape would be slow

    Well i purchased two new second hand aqua one aqualis 700's what a load of plastic trash imo. Going in the bin. Today my ehiem 2217 turned up , no comparision . Ehiem have never let me down mechanically or on flow output awesome as always.

    Well started digging some soil up from garden, rinsed roots out and then got caught baking it in the oven 😂. It's not dissimilar from fancy stuff I paid good money for in the uk.

    Well, if it's worked great for my son in is lowtec set up , as long as your carefull with top ups, his tank runs it's self now, just a filter and 50 percent change once a mth, compared to my set ups it's been superior. It cost less to run is less work. If your busy lowtec is the way to go...

    What do you use for water changes

    We use ro, and remineralize. :-) i window clean some times using a pole system so the kit pays for itself......I don't like the amount of waste water ro produces thought not very ecco.:-(
