I would say 10 hours is too much if you are a beginner , I would stick to maxim 8 hours and see how it goes
It's ok one T5 24w
Are you using the filter on full power ? or just half ?
All problems bellow are related to poor co2 injection or poor/bad flow of co2
What you say here "A lack of iron results in chlorosis of leaves...
Trim the plants so the tank can have a good flow, if you still have problems then co2 is the issue if you dose EI
Forgot to mention that you need to trim the affected plants(melted ones) , if co2 is in good shape new healthy stems will grow soon (5-7 days)...
If you dose NPK and micros then those stauro melts is co2 issue , start co2 at least 2 hours before light are on and be sure you add enough co2...
I see in the corner Monte Carlo looks good , big leafs , healthy stem , maybe your problem is the outage of co2 you had , depend how many days you...
Looking on monte carlo carpet I can say you still have co2 issues, either need to add more co2 or you need to improve flow
Anyone using this Maxspect R420R 55 w 6500K ?
I would like some feedback
I want to use it on my tank , want to switch from T5 to LED's 60x35x35...
Also trim the plants which are badly affected by algae or melting , they will recover after the trim if they get enough co2 , if not they will...
The first picture in post # 1 is pleco damage, rest of the pictures are poor co2 uptake issue
Hair algae , plants not growing , this is co2 issue
[img]60 by Draghiciu Andrei, on Flickr
Meanwhile I made another tank
can't get correct link to flickr ,...
Long time didn't post , this setup ended up like in the picture below about one year ago
Come back in 2 weeks with an update , but now you should see some improvement
I agree with you regarding the diffuser place, but if the filter starts to burp then it's not good, of course, this is the most effective way to...
I would move the co2 diffuser from the intake , i don't know how good is that , i tried once but i was not satisfied with the results
Rotala is turning red IF you have very good co2 levels, EI level ferts and good light, you don't need insane light but usually 0.7 - 1.0 w/liter...
Maybe this helps
Also try to inject co2 at the level that it can reach 1 ph drop in 2 hours, if you can't do that then you have a problem, either you are not...
Add more CO2 , you need ph 6.5 at 17:30 when light comes on, this is your issue
14:00 7.5 ph
14:30 7.5 ph (CO2 on)
15:00 7.4 ph
15:30 7.3 ph...
I'm interested to buy a 600E and from what I know the 600S is more powerful then 600E
600E has 33 w
600S has 45 w
I'm waiting for more info from...
bacopa monieri compact ?
First be sure you clean the tank of algae, manually, do water changes 50-60 % each week
Then be sure you add more co2, try to reach 30-35 ppm and...
Looks fantastic , but I would raise the light to 10-15 cm above the tank to avoid BBA and i would add a surface skimmer
All the problems above are related to low co2 or poor flow / distribution of co2 , dont waste your time searching for ferts issues or other dosing...
You are keeping this plant in the soil ? or attached to wood/stone ?
I can tell you it grows better if it is attached to hardcsape
This plant loves co2 , if it doesn't have enough co2 and light it makes holes in the leaves like it have K deficiency , but its not that , its co2...
GSA , slow growth , plants melting , all this are CO2 issues , increase CO2 a little bit day by day and you should see progress
Ye, maintenance is impossible in 90 % of the scapes that's why these tanks last only for 1-2 months
Was thinking the same, the light is way too much, but 2 months is enough to win a contest then they make another scape :)
Looks good , but i like it more with cosmetic sand in the front
You need to clean and cut the leafs of the plants that are covered in algae , cleaning is needed when you do the water changes
So you are using the skimmer only when co2 and lights are off ?
More to degas the co2 at night ,right ?
Looking at your plants you have 100 % CO2 issues
What's your values of no3 , po4 and Fe in this tank ?
Cut the meted plants , the will not recover , they will create more ammonia in the tank if you are not removing the dead plants
Do another 50 % WC in the next 2 days and change your filter, your problem is the internal filter , is too small for that tank
Stunted growth of rotala in the left upper corner shows CO2 deficiency , also pale growth of stauro considering your dosing is CO2 issue or poor...
here are the stunted tips i was talking about
yes i refer to those smaller leaves
and rotala grows better when it reaches the top because they get acces to more CO2 on the top of the tank...
From the first picture i can see rotala stunted grow ,which leads to co2 issue
Also the lily pipe is making too much surface agitation which...
Feed them more with shimp food, maybe they are hungry ?
If you are dosing EI and plants are not growing stop searching for micro /macro deficiency , you have a co2 issue .
Your plants have stunted tips...
Co2 issue , you increased the light to 100 % but didn't increase the co2 ,
If you have high light and good levels of CO2 rotala will pearl , but i...
Very nice , what are you using for diffusing CO2 ?
...and very noisy
Are you using the external filter on half of the power as shown in the pictures in post # 1?
Try post a picture with the tank and one with the plant having problems, it's more easy to diagnose the problem when seeing pictures
When i had Aquasky 601 over a 60 cm tank , i had the same problem , solved it after i added 0.5 ppm iron each other day from Easy life (Ferro)
Did you find out why was Monte Carlo melting ?
Or this problem went away since you changed the lights ?
Can confirm this , maybe because of the NH4 from the soil
Can you post some pictures ?
Hi , EI is working on tanks with very good filtration and very good CO2 levels and water circulation and very good maintenance . Also moderate...
Have you tried to up co2 till drop checker is yellow ?
My plants aren't doing good if drop checker is lime green , it has to bee yellow . I'm...
Sorry to ask , but how do you know you have good CO2 levels ?
Change your co2 diffuser and try again .
In this picture , https://www.flickr.com/photos/aeropars/28277981553/ , i can see you also have cyanobacteria (BGA) which is sign of too low NO3
Light is too much in my opinion ,but if you run it at 50 % i have no idea what that is meaning.
The dosage is less than you are saying , and you...
Try adding more CO2 , stay at home and increase from 2 bps to 2.5 bps and check if fish are ok . Then if everything is ok try add 3 bps.....and so...
Whats the size of this tank ? And what lighting are you using ?
What levels of EI you mean ? More exactly how much PO4 are you dosing ?
I dosed 3 ppm of PO4 each other day in a 60p tank with ADA aquasky 601 to...
Stunted growth in rotala is lack of CO2 .
Also GSA spots on plants is lack of PO4
How about CO2 ? have you done any improvements ?
What type of lighting you have ? in the description you are saying that is high .
Have u tried with less light ?
The transparent leaves are new leaves or old leaves ?
I think this it's a CO2 issue . Cuba also grows up if it doesn't have enough CO2
What was your problem ?
I'm curious how much iron do you have in your tank , not how much i have :)
Do you have any idea how much iron do you have in the tank ?
Reattached the picture for a better view
Can anyone confirm that the transparent leaves highlighted in the picture attached is Iron deficiency ? Or something else ?
How do you know you have a magnesium deficiency ?
Post updated with new pictures here http://www.acvariu.ro/forum/posts/list/38650.page
What ferts are you dosing and how much in this tank ?
Pictures in post #15 are pleco/ancistrus damage
JBL tests ?
Looks like u have the same problem like a guy from a romanian forum , he bought the same seeds from internet , pretending that they are HC , but...
New growth looks the same or its just old growth looking damaged ?
Thanks for the info
I think its some sort of deficiency , but cannot help you because i don't know what it is .
Winter’s abrupt arrival, Mari El, Russia
Might be ammannia gracilus , i'm not sure, but you need to test your water , sometimes its it's irrelevant how much are you dosing because each...
Those values are the water parameters or how much are you dosing ?
I don't think that is rotala macrandra narrow leaf .
Can you do water tests ? NO3 PO4 and Fe ?
Any news ?
Please let us know how much and what are you dosing . I'm curious :)
Haven't done the "fire test " yet but this powder has pungent smell (but not like ammonia) .
Anyone else can confirm this ?
Ok, thanks , i will try that
Thanks Darel , but how can i be sure its KNO3 and not CaNO3 or something else ?
This is my concern
I added 45 gr of powder to 500 ml still water ,...
Hello , recently i switched the KNO3 powder , i bought from other aquarium shop. And when i mixed it with water the solution became cloudy , but...
Hi Nuno , do you have any idea what levels of NO3 , PO4 and Fe (in ppm) do you have in this tank ?
I'm not interested on how much are you dosing...
Add fast growing plants , like stem plants , rotala ...etc
I'm dosing 4 ml of EL Ferro and 2 ml EL profito in my 64 liter tank .
So i think you were not adding enough micros / FE. As Sciencefiction said...
Actually what you say about the light/BBA balance its true
After having BBA in the tank for almost 1 year (reading 100000 articles about it) i figured out that BBA starts to grow more and more if the...
Hi , unfortunately i don't have pictures with rotala before switching micros , but for sure it had stunted tips on new growth , but now it looks...
Maybe she was dosing too much KH2PO4 and that was wiping the iron . It's not good to dose KH2PO4 and Iron/traces in the same day .
If you want...
