Bio Slug Wood Snot

When I was new into this hobby I made the mistake and ended up buying common plecos. It's been 5 months now and those plecos are still in my other tanks. But I will buy bristolnose plecos and siamese algae eater for my new tank

Not sure exactly what bio slug we are talking about here? Is it blue green algae ? Can you post a picture? How old is the tank? Don’t introduce live stock to solve a specific problem that eventually will take care of itself with proper maintenance and patience.

Cheers,
Michael

The tank was set up 9 days ago. This white bio slug that you can see wrapped around the driftwood. This isn't the first time, I've seen new tanks with driftwood have bio slug. 24 hours ago it was worse.

Some sort of fungus... this is not uncommon on newly introduced driftwood / new setups... personally I would go for manual removal (use an old toothbrush) to the extent you can and otherwise just wait it out. If your worried about the moss, you can just temporarily relocate it to a different spot in the tank.

Cheers,
Michael
