I am about to set up a 60x40x40cm 96L tank and will use a Eheim Prof 4+ 2273.

And I will buy lilypipes but i have some questions regarding the size of lilypipes

While this filter has 16/22mm inlet/outlet tubing size. Would it be a problem to downsize the outlet to 12/16mm and use a smaller lilypipe for the astetics :p ?
How will that affect the filter regarding flow, filterlife etc.

I have been trying to find some information regarding this but with no luck.

Cross sectional area of 16mm (inside diameter) is 200mm2, 12mm pipe is 113mm2.

Thus a 40% reduction in cross sectional area, will result in a corresponding reduction in flow. If you want to use 12mm ID, buy a 12mm outlet filter, rather than waste the flow of your bigger filter.

Thank you for that answer!
Well explained
