Plant ID help please

55cm tall tank - seems an unusual height for Lagenandra thwaitesii

55cm tall tank - seems an unusual height for Lagenandra thwaitesii
Well I'm clueless but I've tried doing a bit of research into this as I like the look of what I think is Lagenandra thwaitesii

Height Some people say 10-15cm others say it just keeps growing.

Not heard back from Sanj but he's not been online this year.

So is it a rosette or rhizome?
Link below is just one example saying its a rhizome.

Link below is an example saying its a rosette

Also listed on Sanjs' plant list is Lagenandra meaboldii (red) which I'm guessing is the one circled below - would you agree?
According to the UKAPS database it grows 10-20+ and this is quite on the + side and is also listed as a rosette

I'd say it's the one on the right around the wood.
The one now circled?
Now I've zoomed in I see there's some longer stems so think I agree - from my google image comparisons anyway!
I originally thought it was a Crypt of some kind.

Any suggestions what the one circled in the above thread is then?

I think the plant you are looking for is indeed a crypt with cryptocoryne affinis a strong possibility. It is in his original plant list and I've seen it grow to 40cm or so in lower lighting. In high lighting it stays much small and flatter but seen a shrimp tank with very poor lighting where it was massive.

But there are bigger leaves mixed in with the circled plant which could be aponogeton. The nice plant in the middle at the back is this crypt I believe as well.

So the first photo has a plant circled in the middle I suspect maybe Lagenandra thwaitesii

This second photo you are thinking is cryptocoryne affinis?
Lagenandra meaboldii (red).jpg

And finally this 3rd photo now thinking Lagenandra meaboldii (red)

3rd is definitely L meaboldii, I think the first two circled plants are the same species. It's hard to say which species that is but looking at pictures online it does look really like lagenandra thwaitesii but I've seen affinis grow very similar. If i had to punt on an id I'd probably go for lagenandra I've never seen it in the flesh.

If you have a zoom in on the second pic you should notice that the plant in the centre of the circle looks very much a different plant to the presumed Lagenandra thwaitesii but there is some of the presumed Lagenandra thwaitesii in the circle. Try looking again the leaf is a different shape and colour a little red and slightly transparent.

Have you changed your mind about the crypt ID?

I think the plant on the left circled is a thwaitesii, so is the one in the middle, but the one on the left is intermingled with another plant that looks like aponogeton madagascariensis.

I do think it is more likely to be thwaitesii than the crypt but its very hard to be certain from the picture and it could be either.
