What filters are people using on 30x30's?

Seen a few hob style ones which don't look very appealing. Eheim ecco pro with glass lily's but unsure how much room will be in the tank when in place.

Any other suggestions?

Cheers

Various nano Lilly pipes available from some of our sponsors,

Or stainless steel instead of glass

Jbl cristalprofi e400 would be another filter alternative to the eheim, flow is adjustable via a lever, dial it down untill plants are rooted well to save plants and substrate disturbance, I've used the e700 on previous nano scapes, even as small as 12 ltr.

I have a JBL Cristalprofi M Greenline in my 30x30 shrimp tank. Not sure it would be ideal for high tech planted nano but seems great for shrimp.

What system are you using for inlet and outlet inside the tank mate?
It is an internal filter and is basically a sponge with a space behind it and a pump. It has like a little weir on top as the return.

Just read that it claims to be 200 lph which for a 22l tank is nearly 10 times but it doesn't seem to create that much flow.

On a train now but I think there is a video of it in action on YouTube. If you see that you will know whether it is for you or not; it is a black plastic box that I hide at the back behind plants but I can imagine others will not want it taking up already limited space or looking like a black plastic box ;)

edit: I saw one at LFS for £15 over the weekend and nearly got it as a spare to add to the (getting huge) pile of bits

Just had a look at it, as far as internals go, cosmetically it's not that bad.

I may order some nano glass lily's and see what room is in there, only one way to find out I suppose!

I'll be watching this thread! I've been looking at the denerle proscape hang on back filter. Expensive though

Can pick up the Eheim Ecco for the same sort of money. They do have some good reviews and looks like a decent bit of kit. Decisions:banghead:

I run a Eheim Pro Ecco 200 on my 30 cube with a glass spray bar from APFUK. Just the right amount of flow, and well distributed at that. With an inline CO2 diffuser. Pretty decent results.
