Cherry Shrimp issue(s)

Hi guys

I have a 22l heavily planted tank with 3 guppies and around 12 shrimp (now counting about 9) usually around 7.4ph until lights on when co2 comes in drops a little but not much really. Other day it was at 6ph which was bizarre as not seen that since, all i did differently was add two almond leaves.

Anyway, I bought some Rili and Cherrys for my tank and had for two weeks fine but few disappeared, topped up with few more cherries and recently two have died which I might put down to using 1mm of flourish most days for red plants and MC Cuba.

Couple of shrimp were pregnant when I had them not obvious now, and noticed this on one of them - is it the fungal infection do you think or just pregnant? Looks a lot like the infection I found on Google.

Levels are all good, nitrates are 20ppm which is very high as usually nothing I overdid the feeding and flourish I think it must be but doing daily small water changes to lower it down.

Many thanks in advance

Rob

While the shrimp in question may also carry eggs, they are decidedly infected (likely some form of parasite ... there are some good discussions on this sort of thing over at The Shrimp Spot forum, specific link included in alternate version of this topic)

- perhaps a Moderator can merge these threads
