Can I ask as new to planted setups if going to pressurized co"2 system is worth the extra cost? im using liquid carbon dioxide in seachem exel on new 7ft 2ft 2ft " but at £18 a 500ml bottle! and at recommended dosing on bottle and with size of water changes I do on tank! will only last around 5 weeks"

will a pressurized co"2 system work out better and cheaper in long run?

Pressurised CO2 obviously has some start-up costs related to the equipment, but long term is cheaper. I use Fire Extinguishers which I get from a small local fire safety company when they are 10 years old and can't be used any more by their customers. I get a 2KG FE for £5 and that usually lasts me 2-3 months on a 120 litre aquarium. I'm no expert on the chemistry stuff, but I believe there are ways you can mix your own liquid carbon solution which is significantly cheaper. I'm sure someone else will chip in that can explain it better, but you should be able to find info by searching the forums.

Thanks but don't really wont to take a health risk" only got one bad lung as it is :what: im just thinking of co"2 over the exel im using at minute"

I'd go with the CO2 then, it'll be cheaper in the long run and more beneficial to your plants. With a tank that size you'd be better with a pub cylinder. These seem reasonably priced http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Co2-Gas-C...ew-Aquariums-refill-exchange-20-/141866868828
The other thing you could do is choose easy plants and use just enough CO2 to turn the drop checker green, thus saving gas...this works well to and it'd be even better in combo with a soil substrate, sort of hybrid energy. It's what I'd do with a tank your size.

Edit: or you could do what hoggie suggests:)
