Difficulties with CO2 output

Hello,

Between my regulator and diffuser I have a JBl bubble counter. The number of bubbles per second are much higher in the bubble counter as compared to the bps that are entering the diffuser. So for example with a very high number of bps, say 10, that are entering the counter; only 4 are coming out at the other side. Any idea of what's causing this? It can't be a leak can it? In that case no bubbles would be reaching the reactor I think.

Apart from the different bubble size, depending on how you set it up,
if there are different pressure levels along the line, there can be different bubble rates as well.

It can be. Small leak is like that.

Thanks for the answers. But that makes controlling the output very difficult. When I set my regulator at a slow number of bps (e.g. 1 bps), no bubbles will come out at the other end.

There should be bubbles show up at the other end if you wait long enough.
If not, I suspect there is a leak.
