Good evening

I am about to comeback to fish keeping after a 4 year absence. Up until then I had kept fish in some form since the age of 8. My last aquarium was a 180litre heavily planted, although nothing like some of the ones I have seen here.
Hoping to buy an AquaOak aquarium from Maidenhead in the next couple of weeks, and looking for some guidance on equipment as it has changed drastically from 4 years ago.

How many £££££'s do you want to spend and what are you looking to achieve? Give us some idea of size, high /low tec. etc.

Before you buy the cabinet, make sure it can house everything you want/need - particularly the pump. If you want the pump hidden, the size of the cupboard is all important. (this also goes for C02 equipment).

Hi jellyfish6, thanks for the reply. I was thinking around £1000 including the tank and cabinet but could spend more if need be. The trade off with the wife is the cabinet has to be a nice piece of furniture as well as supporting my hobby so not sure how much negotiation there is in that. Size wise I was looking at a metre long aquarium, but also since planning quite like the cube type. Like the idea of LED lighting and would love to create something visually stunning as it will be in our living room.

My wife also like this one

Could really do with guidance on filter flow, lighting and Co2. Substrates too.

Thanks again
