Hi everyone,

Just kinda starting out, I have built a ADA style cabinet (ADA Way to expensive) and my new tank has just arrived (90x50x45, opti-white, brace-less, again not ADA for the same reason as above). Instructions talk of it must be placed on 10mm of polystyrene... This would totally ruin the look I'm going for, what is best to do? The surface it is on is totally smooth and flat.

Try and find a yoga mat or foam mat same colour as your cabinet.

What colour is your cabinet? I painted mine dark grey and was lucky to get a specific tank mat off ebay same colour for a few quid, if you look at pictures of my tank on the cabinet you will see it is really very unobtrusive

totally smooth and flat

May look like that now, but if it warps a tiny bit it could put stress on the tank, hence the "buffer" of something "spongy"
