Hello,

I can't seem to find a decent piece of redmoor root to buy where I live so once again I decided to go DIY. Anyone knows what tree this is and how I can make a few roots for myself?

If you were in the UK I would have suggested Aqua Essentials. Sorry to be of no help.

could u not used a dry olive root or some thing more local ?

I would use some large Cistus species, Arbutus unedo dead shrubs, Quercus coccifera dead shrubs, vineyards, very old Arctostaphyllos uva ursi (not sure if you have it there). Regarding olive trees I would use the wild ones, smaller and nicer shapes, also other shrubs in the coastline shaped by the wind (Phyllerea, Astra gal us, etc). I'm sure you have in the islands windy areas and capes to hunt nice hardscape wood
