Quick newbie question

How long after planting should I give HC Cuba a trim. It's been planted about two weeks. Originally, I cut each pot into 8. Now each of the cuttings is about the size of the original pot and about 1.5 cm tall. Is it too soon to cut it?

Also, some of the new growth hasn't rooted into the substrate, probably because the substrate is so uneven (Manado
is so light that it is really easy to displace and leave craters during planting). Is it best to cut these bits off and replant them elsewhere (they have good roots) or should I try to get them to settle where they are. I'm worried that I'll end up uprooting the whole plant :( Any tips?

Thanks
