    Staurogyne lake 270L - return of oddn0ise

In my experience with Anubias it will lose a fair few leaves now and again, it tends to happen for a month or so and then stops and flourishes, then 3-4 months down the line it follows the same cycle. I wouldn't worry about it myself.

    Glutaraldehyde!

Has anyone here compared there own mix of liquid Co2 using Glutaraldehyde to Sachem Flourish Excel? I have used almost every type of commercially sold liquid Co2 over the years and found Excel to be the best, am looking to save some ££ but don't want my tanks to suffer. Whilst using Excel I...

    Purigen advice

From this; To this: Its all about getting the process right, make sure you rinse the old dirt away many times with fresh water before you use all that prime to get rid of the last traces of bleach, I also use RO water during the final stage along with the prime.

    Tips on feeding otocinclus

I feed my Ottos a slice of Courgette twice a week, soak it in a cup of hot water for a couple or mins and use something to hold it at the bottom of the tank (I use a metal skewer pushed through the slice of courgette) feed at night and remove any uneaten courgette within 24 hours. Ottos can...

    what heaters for 200l tank?

General rule of thumb is 1watt per litre but I tend to try and go with 1.5watt per litre just so that the heater is not over worked. Saying that my tanks break my own rule! On my open top 180L tank I run a 300W Hydor External heater running off one of my 2 EX1200 filters, the large open water...

    All The Gear, "No Idear"

Well, over a year later and I am back. Had other commitments in my life and lost interest in my tanks for a little while so they have just been ticking over for the last year or so. This scape ended up like this a while back; I had to tear it down because the build up of mulum under the HC...

    All The Gear, "No Idear"

Cheers, I took that photo and uploaded it and thought it looked a bit too green, I checked my phone which I took the photo from and the camera lens was very dirty so I gave it a wipe and took a new photo. That is what happens when I let my 2 year old daughter get her grubby hands on my phone...

    All The Gear, "No Idear"

Updated photo, the HC is not spreading that fast in the corners which I put down to low flow in those areas. As usual with all my tanks I just leave them be and all I do is change 50% of the water weekly and dose my ferts every day. I need to clean all the glass inside and out, the pipes need a...

    All The Gear, "No Idear"

Thank you, I had a nightmare trying to source more green Rasboras and spotted some Gold Neon Tetras which I fell in love with so I bought 20 removed the rasboras and added the Gold Neons. They are a bit timid and constantly hiding but when they are out they look stunning. I will do my best to...

    All The Gear, "No Idear"

Just sticking to my 50% weekly water changes, the TDS never goes over 200ppm. The CRS breeding is a sign of the water not being hardened much if at all by the rock.

    All The Gear, "No Idear"

Thanks, the film is hardly noticeable TBH and the skimmer is only running during the night to give the surface a little polish. I have had a couple of tanks in the past with heavy surface film but this is no way near as bad. I have been monitoring the situation over the last day or so and I...

    All The Gear, "No Idear"

Cheers Rob, most of my previous tanks were of the rustic style so have tried something a little different this time. TBH I am not much good at aquascaping so just try and create scapes that me and the missus like. I just don't have the eye for the placement required in order to be up their...

    All The Gear, "No Idear"

Updated picture, been running for 6 days now so not much going on the rocks have been cleaned up by the CRS and I have added a surface skimmer which comes on at night just to clear the small bit of surface film. (drop checker has just been cleaned so not showing that green)
