Co2 reactor on Inlet side of filter

Its post mechanical filter, but pre biological... The exisiting pre filter clogs quickly, and I need to clean once a week...that is why I am seeking for a larger unit hence this thread as cabinet space is premium. Should I remove the filter floss, or look for a larger pump?

Co2 reactor on Inlet side of filter

Good point, but I can fit and probably will fit it after a large pre filter containing course and media filter mat and filter floss. This is the reason I need it on the inlet side so I can fit a larger prefilter.

Co2 reactor on Inlet side of filter

Due to the layout of my cabinet I want to connect my CEG CO2 reactor to the inlet side of my Eheim external filter rather than the outlet side. Is there any detrimental effect of doing this, is it less effective at "holding" the CO2 in the water?

DIY Project High flow DIY reactor - now with video

Hi Foxfish, thanks for your reply. to answer your first question yes there seems to be enough CO2 dissolved. I have managed to overcome this by turing down the co2 injection rate and now I do not have one large buble my many smaller ones. Currently I am employing a narrow nect bottle but will...

DIY Project High flow DIY reactor - now with video

I have built this reactor but inject the co2 into the 16mm inflow pipe via a t-piece. What I notice is that the co2 bubbles collect at the top and merge to create one large bubble. Is there a way to avoid this?

Hi Jose, Yes I have also had some fish deaths. Although none now, but the BBA still seems to be growing although at a slower rate.

    Potassium Nitrate and BBA

Hi Sasha, If you read the sticky that I provided a link to, they indicate that some Ebay items might not be "pure" Potassium Nitrate, as there is no control of sales on Ebay. If so then there may be other chemical/filler that may contribute to BBA.
