Stocking Levels & Ideas?

Hi all,

First post on the forum so here goes.

I currently have a low tech planted Aqua One Aquanano 60 (100litres, 60cm wide) and was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on total fish stocking levels and also potential inhabitants?

The tank has been up and running around 3 months and seems to be settling in nicely. I'm hoping to keep smaller sized fish in order to keep scale with the tank size/scape.

At the minute I have 7 ember tetras, 4 pygmy corydoras habrosus, 1 young crowntail betta and approximately 6-7 red cherry shrimp. Would there be much more room for more inhabitants providing my parameters stay in check? I was thinking maybe one more school of something and a couple more pygmy corys to fill out their numbers.

All advice would be greatly appreciated.

Current tank parameters are as follows:

Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: ~5
pH: 6.8-7

Lighting: Fluval Aquasky 6500k running at around 70% intensity.

Also dosing the Seachem flourish line including excel, minimal algae at present and plants seem to love it.

What you're thinking should work well. The tank is only 60cm long so although slightly larger 100l for the length I wouldn't put too much more than that. The cherry shrimp population in 6 months or so will be way larger..if they are not much predated upon...I've got hundreds in a 54 litre tank....the less the fish, the more the shrimp..

Yeah sounds like a plan although I'm stuck for ideas as to what other small school to go for haha, I'll keep looking. I've only just recently added the crowntail so shall give it a couple of week or so to let things settle in again and see if anything springs to mind! Thanks for the reply mate.

Tank looks excellent to me..... Will suggest to add more anubias and fern ..... About the fish stock, i think u can consider a big school of ember tetra.... U can increase the count to 20 it should b fine .......

Again tank is nicely scaped..... And plan positioning is Lovely..... Really love the looks of ur tank.

By d way, next weekend .. ill trim and will have plants to giveaway... If interested u can collect it from my place..

Thank you mate. Yes you're right, a larger school of a single species tetra could work well. I really like the look of the ember tetras in here as they really complement the browns and greens of the wood, sand and plants along with my black background.

I may consider adding more anubias too...

I think I may be underestimating the size of my tank with regards to stocking levels. It's. It the largest however the bioload will be relatively small due to the size of the fish and the fact I never overfeed.

Thanks for the input!
