Hi just work with the pH of the water you have re: plants and fish stock. Unless you want to go down the road of using RO water and mixing with tap water etc. This can be tedious.

How are you planning to light your tank? What substrate did you use?
DIY CO2 is very difficult to get consistent results with. Hence, most move on to a CO2 gas cylinder and regulator.

I recently got the following for my internal atomizer:

It works well and can take the high pressure required to run the atomizer. The CO2 tubing gets locked in by the ''bolt'' on either end of the bubble counter. I used my old CO2 tubing.
