Re: 120 x 55 x 55 Going for a record!
Tom, imo it is difficult to achieve such layer with fissidens, as it grows in kinda bulbs .. but the wavy effect might be worth a try. Flame might look very interesting thought
Re: 120 x 55 x 55 Water changing and trimming.
I always enjoyed those "from the top" shots if the water level is lowered like in this image - this makes the tank look more shallow and bigger than it actually is. Maybe you could make one during the next WC? ;)
Re: 120 x 55 x 55 @ 1 week old.
Tony,
Put them on the market place
Mark,
good job, tanks looks already matured, thought it is only 1 week old
Re: 120 x 55 x 55 Iwawoody.
It will produce air-runners as well which look kind of cool until the plant-lets get too big, but I´m sure you´ll manage it
Re: 120 x 55 x 55 Iwawoody.
Whats wrong with the lightning? or is it just lifted on one side for the WC?
Vesuvius is like any other Echinodorus species, leafs have to be removed completely, trimming will lead to black/yellow cutting edges so it is better to remove them from the bottom.
120 x 55 x 55 Iwawoody.
Hi Mark,
Love the new hardscape! It must be awesome in person and look bigger than on photos.
Think about attaching pinatifada to the driftwood and giving it a hard trim ;-)
Re: New journal, coming soon!
The tank I submitted to ASE2011 I dosed daily dosage of ADA ferts only once per week as I couldn´t maintain the tank more frequently - all plants are looking great and grow compact and dense. You wont get the turbo speed though
Re: NA Style Baby...
looking good Edis,
turned out really well
C.Balansae might get too big for this tank. Mine got 60+cm big
C.Costata is a nice one, this one produce lots of leafs and stays smaller

I´m fine
except the fact I can´t go on holidays this summer and the weather is definitely too hot to work in a suit and tie.
By the way, you remember I told you about my college visit to london 2011? I will be there from 29 of January till 19th February. Would be great to meet some of the...
Hi Mark,
hope it helps if you hear that I´m unhappy with last tank too :? Everything is looking fine - all plants are good quality but somehow it has no soul. Multiple things I wish to change. Working hard last time, days are short too - not much time to think about the hobby. need some time...
Re: Saintly's 'savannah dreaming' @ 5 weeks
I have had riccia attached to plansoil, when it stay for a longer period under water, it turns dark green and is shooting small roots like moss. As I pulled them out, there was plenty of soils attached to it. :jawdrop
pics?
Re: Saintly's 'savannah dreaming'
Savannah Dreaming sounds like there'll be a sandy foreground ... what are your plans mate?
Fully planted foreground is more tropical forest like ..
Re: Saintly's 120cm latest scape
Hi Marc,
nice Hardscape. Is this wood from Manzanita.com ?
I have asked several shops in Germany if they could offer me some - but no chance  have to place an order my self from the US.
Looking forward for more pics, maybe you can record the...
few weeks ago I met a guy from Dennerle, he told to use multiple non return valves to avoid such issues :
1.between the difusor and the bubble counter
2.under the bubble counter
Re: Tonsers 200L Optiwhite ... now ft. floaters :(
a small flat piece of plastik glued or screwed to the bottom of each piece of driftwood will work as roots and keep the driftwood in the soil even if they would like to float.
As George said, still looks good though ;)
