Well the nanos were setup in advance as you no doubt know, Graeme's Tropica cube is setup at home again, same with my "slow burner" but my optiwhite is getting broken down for a while so i can concentrate on other things. We used my 80cm for the show and the intention was to rip it down but...

Hey folks, I did this a while ago. Those who came to my BBQ will remember seeing it in a mess! It only really lasts for a couple of days. 10 days really but in it's prime at around day 6 and then starts to get really leggy and mine started to die off. TBF once it was over grown, i just left it...

Thats a very well executed iwagumi IMO. In the aquatic sense, Iwagumi can be treated in many different ways and this particular style of iwagumi is my favorite. Congratulations on your result, well deserved.

This looks great George. As you know, i saw this a few times from it's conception and i never saw one bit of algae the whole time! The rocks look great, the HC and hair grass carpet are crackin' together and the photography is spot on. What was you dosing etc?...

Hi mate, I'm glad you like it and yes, optiwhites rock, it positively shines in between two float glass tanks. The tank is filtered by a Fluval 105 with cal aqua lilly pipes. The flow does flatten out the softer stems like HM but it seems ok for it. The actual volume is 27l. I dose easy carbo...

Nice work mate, that looks lovely. It's not all about scaping on here, just being able to grow plants successfully is an acheivement. Being able to scape isn't enough, you need to be able to grow the plants to go in your scape :wink:

I'll post what i come up with, Jeremy Gay and i were doing this some time ago but the tank was always the problem, i made a few from perspex @ 45mm x 18mm but it was so hard getting it to look good, maybe we could discuss existing vessels that may be useable?....

my scape and tank were up for sale for a while, i should have held out..... ive ripped it down now, it was torture ripping it down :(

It looks great and that wood is awesome. You may struggle to get a good effect using vallis and stems for the background, if it were me i'd use one or the other. If you use stems in the backgroud you'll be able to sculpt them to create a transition from fore, mid and background.

Hi everyone, i've just had my letter from the ADA and it says that the images still can't be published till after the ADA party so i've removed them all.

The one on the home page is V1, no doubt Peter will give everyone a glimps when he has time. He's away a lot.

They are members' tanks and i've made the background and stats myself :D

Re: UKaps ADA Showcase I just dosed EI and EasyCarbo coupled with good maintenance, lighting and Co2. I never had to trim my anubius, it was a year old and never stripped a leaf! George even commented on the lack of algae in PFK. I don't know what to say, i suppose it was EasyCarbo doing the job???

Bring it on! LOL I TBH i like it how it is at the mo and G as a few stems of Rotala growing slowly behind the rock so i'll give that a chance to grow up and see how it looks. I'll be keeping the HC, pogastemon, and Staurogyne but maybe add some Umbrosum or HM around the back if the Rotala...

That looks great, if it were mine then alls that i would change is move the hydrocotyle into the far right corner and leave the sand open if you you don't have sufficient lighting for a carpet. I love it, well done.

I have really struggled with java moss too. I put it down to high temp being a discus tank since it was fine in my coldwater tank. I'm glad to see others agree.

Here is an updated pic after taking the advise. I have added some vallis to the left 1/3 of the tank and a large java fern to the centre and moved the wood as James suggested. i think you agree it's an improvement. These still more room for improvement but this will do till it grows on abit...
